Air carriers operating flight types that fall outside regular commercial services may require a route permit from TRACON. This includes overflights, fuel or technical stops by operators from non‑IASTA countries, as well as other special‑purpose flights.

Permits for special flight types

Air carriers that want to operate commercial overflights, fuel stops and technical stops by operators from countries that did not ratify the International Air Services Transit Agreement (IASTA) will have to apply for a route permit at TRACON. Companies that want to operate flights for other purposes, such as humanitarian flights, should contact TRACON via e-mail to inquire on a case by case basis whether a route permit is required.
